Christmas Village is made up of adorable little wooden chalets on the edge of the famous square. Browse the Christmas market and find everything from Christmas gifts to warm food like waffles and poffertjes, fashion and lifestyle items and decorations for your house, from Christmas trees to wreaths.

The Amsterdam Light Festival is a grand initiative, creating a dazzling atmospheric background in the historic centre of Amsterdam during winter. To celebrate its 13th edition, the festival presents the most appealing, inspiring and incredible artworks. In total, more than 25 artworks are placed along the route, on the theme of "Rituals".

Conviviality, music, atmosphere and the style of Dickens. These are the main features of the Dickens Fair Bennekom. For more than 15 years, the region's most enjoyable 2-day event has been organised every year in December, transforming the centre of Bennekom into a Christmas fair in the style of Charles Dickens.

Be enchanted by this beautiful stable with over 600 magnificent Christmas stable figures. They are genuine museum pieces; originating from the eighteenth century in the Italian city of Naples. Together, they form a complete city in miniature. The stable is nice and crowded and there is something to discover on all sides. Your eyes are popping out!

Following last year’s success, Lights of Nature is back—bigger and better! Embark on an educational journey through nature’s stunning lights, inspired by the Northern Lights and other natural light phenomena. This year’s show is revamped with amazing light and sound effects, promising a unique experience for the whole family.

Crafted by an expert team of sculptors and artists using over 500 tonnes of ice and snow, this year’s theme celebrates 750 years of Amsterdam. From the founding of the city in 1275 to the present day, each work of art tells a story, frozen in time, and invites visitors to discover and relive the stories of the city.

On the 3rd Saturday in January, we celebrate National Tulip Day, the start of the (cut) tulip season. At Museumplein in the center of Amsterdam, we will lay out a tulip picking garden with as many as 200,000 tulips. At 13:00, the garden will be opened and everyone can pick a free bunch of tulips.

Kingsday is one of the biggest national festivals in the Netherlands. Formerly known as queensday and celebrated on April 30, kingsday is now celebrated on April 27, the birthday of Willem-Alexander, who ascended the throne in 2013. 

Late June is the time to visit the Netherlands for the Defqon.1 Weekend Festival in Biddinghuizen. Defqon.1 is an annual music festival for hardstyle music genres, such as hardcore techno, hard house and hard trance, which has been organized since 2003.
